“I got a score of 1490 out of 1520. 730 out of 760 on the reading and writing section and 760 out of 760 on the math section. Thanks again for helping me prep for the test….

…I am excited to inform you that I have been accepted to national Merit Finalist status. I will not know about scholarship money until March or May, but I wanted to thank you for your classes, input, and encouragement.”

–Michael A.

“…For me, taking a prep course has certainly paid off. For any of you, it could mean the difference between zero and thousands of dollars in scholarship money. The majority of the students taking the SAT or PSAT will have been through a prep course at least once, and in order to compete, homeschool students need to follow. From my own experience I know the value of a good prep course, and the results — in both scores and in scholarships — can be simply amazing.”

— Ginger, perfect SAT score

“I received my SAT test scores today. I received a 780 out of 800 on the reading and writing sections and a 790 out of 800 in the math sections. This gave me a total of 1570 out of 1600 for the entire test. I just wanted to thank you for helping me improve my SAT test taking skills by providing the practice tests and lectures during this year’s course. Taking the course for the third time truly helped solidify the knowledge I had gained from the course, and I appreciate your investment in my education.
(P.S.  I don’t have the PSAT scores back yet.)”

“I got my score last week and I got a 1320! Thanks for putting in all the work to help us improve our scores.”

“I am a high school graduate, and this fall I will be going to Baylor University with over $80,000 worth of scholarships. I can say with confidence that Mrs. Hamilton’s SAT/PSAT Prep Course was instrumental in these scholarships, which have allowed me to go to a university I probably could not have gone to otherwise.”

“I was not nervous when I saw the real test because I knew what to expect. The SAT classes helped me so much and I am so thankful that I took the course.”

“Dear Mrs. Hamilton, I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for your math classes and SAT prep classes. I just finished two enormous accounting and tax policy projects, and I realized how much your classes have helped me to not only get into college and obtain a really awesome scholarship but also excel in my major and profession. We don’t do a lot of advanced calculus (except in the consulting side of accounting…which, thanks to the foundation you gave me, I have done exceptionally well in), but we sure use a ton of algebra and statistics and analytical reasoning (yay for the foundation laid by geometry proofs!!) on a daily basis. While some of my classmates are struggling with understanding how math relates to the theoretical concepts we learn in class, I am able to grasp the concepts well because of the solid foundation I had in high school. Your students rave about how your classes help them succeed on the PSAT/SAT; however, I wanted to let you know that your classes are just as helpful in preparing for college itself. Math was my weakest subject before college, and I never thought I would find myself in a profession that used it on a daily basis. I love getting to use math and analytical reasoning/problem solving while interacting with clients and providing customer service — it is exciting to get to use my strengths in my profession! I am so glad that you helped me to “get the hang of math!” I am currently studying to take the GMAT next month…. The geometry, vocabulary, reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and much of the math is old hat –thanks to your excellent prep courses for the SAT. I am SO grateful that I don’t have to start from square one. I am also thankful for your invaluable testmanship strategies… they have saved my life (well, at least my GPA) in college (SMU). Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!”

“2015 October SAT Results:  Reading- 620   Writing- 630   Math- 680   total: 1930 (out of 2400) 2015 PSAT Results: Combined Reading and Writing- 710   Math- 680   total:1390 (out of 1600). I plan to take the SAT once more this month, and am reviewing your packets and vocabulary to prepare. I should receive commended status at least. I also believe I qualify for National Hispanic Recognition. THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me to achieve my scores! ”

“Thank you so much for the time you invested in preparing me for the PSAT. Although I’d heard about other students’ success in your courses, the experience is now a personal one and I’m confident that preparation “does work!” just like you said. From initial practice test to final exam, my scores rose 33 points (from 181 to 214). Even better, the knowledge and techniques you taught are already paying off in other areas. But most of all I appreciated your encouragement, patience, cheerfulness, willingness to work problems after class, and unselfish efforts to help all of us succeed. It’s often in the sphere of character that I learn the most from my teachers, and your Christ-like example is a treasure….

I am far from despising math, but I am not strong in it. Such being the case, your emphasis on algebra and geometry redeemed my score. I loved the way you clearly explained concepts and strategies; you didn’t just explain them, you communicated to the point where I grasped and understood them…

Altogether, your challenging (but fun!) prep course rewarded me both academically and spiritually. Thank you for repeatedly pointing us toward trust in God; this particularly affirmed me in studying hard but not becoming anxious, and I felt very comfortable at the real test. May God bless and prosper your future courses and your faithful service to Him. I look forward to next year and the SAT!”

“Hi Mrs. Hamilton,  I just had to take the TEAS test to get into nursing school, . . . . So, after studying for a couple days straight, I took it, and scored a 92.7% (national average is 64.3%). I only missed one math question, giving me a 96.7% in that area:) I had to score higher than TWU’s average of 85% to have a pretty good shot at getting into the program I want, and this score will do it.

I would not have been able to get that kind of a score after comparatively so little study if I had not already had the past experience of the hardcore test taking strategies you taught in the PSAT/SAT classes. All I needed to do at that point is brush up on the chemistry and science portions of the test and learn the other types of problems in the reading and grammar sections, and the rest of the test was just using the skills I had already learned from your classes to do well. I’ve found that your SAT course not only helped me get into college with the direct results from that (I got a 2200), but it is also helping me with other standardized tests even still. What I’ve learned and want to tell others who are still in high school is that if you take the time now to learn how to take a test (what is on the SAT is pretty much 75% of what is on any test), it will reap huge benefits down the road when all you have time for is just a brush-up on the material specific to the test.

Anyway, thanks for all the math classes and PSAT/SAT strategies that you taught me. They really have a universal application in testing. ”

“My son, David, took your course several times when he was in high school… He will now be graduating from Texas A&M this May. When he took the PSAT his junior year, he tested out as a National Merit Scholar which qualified him for a full four-year scholarship at A&M–value approximately $80,000 with the scholarships he was awarded because of his test score, volunteer work with church, and work with missions in other countries. He is now enrolled to continue his education on a full-ride for the next six years at Harvard University (worth approximately $420,000). When I asked him, “David what do you think was one of the main things that helped you on your PSAT and testing for graduate schools?” He answered without hesitation that it was the words he memorized and the short-cuts he learned for math in the Mary Hamilton class. He told me he has seen those words over and over again on all the tests he has taken for graduate scholarships. Too bad he had to turn down MIT, Yale, John Hopkins, Stanford and about 5 other Ivy League schools that offered him full rides as well. Many, many thanks to your time that you have taken to teach the next generation. I just hope that the upcoming students realize the potential that your course offers. It really works!”
